{"schema":"threatline.record/2","record":{"id":"CVE-2026-85097","aliases":[],"summary":"Bricksforge <= 3.1.8.9 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload via 'temporaryFileUploads' Parameter","details":"The Bricksforge plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthenticated arbitrary file upload in versions up to, and including, 3.1.8.9. This is due to insufficient validation of the attacker-controlled URL field in the 'temporaryFileUploads' parameter during form submission. An unauthenticated attacker can first obtain a valid nonce via the bricksforge_regenerate_nonce AJAX endpoint, then upload a GIF/PHP polyglot file to the temporary upload directory where MIME type validation is correctly performed. Subsequently, the attacker can submit a form with a crafted 'temporaryFileUploads' parameter where the server-side file path points to the validated GIF file, but the attacker-controlled url field ends with a .php extension. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload and execute arbitrary PHP code on the server.","categories":["Unclassified"],"product":"Bricksforge","vendor":"Bricksforge","ecosystem":null,"affected_ranges":[{"source":"CVE List","source_url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-85097","source_modified_at":"2026-10-08T14:24:41.018Z","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","product":"Bricksforge","vendor":"Bricksforge","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"3.1.8.9","versionType":"semver"}],"defaultStatus":"unaffected"}],"fixed_versions":[],"cvss":9.8,"severity":"Critical","kev":{"listed":false},"epss":{"probability":0.01292,"percentile":0.70056,"score_date":"2026-10-23"},"published_at":"2026-10-08T06:42:09.676Z","modified_at":"2026-10-08T14:24:41.018Z","provenance":[{"source":"CVE List","url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-85097","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","source_modified_at":"2026-10-08T14:24:41.018Z"},{"source":"Nuclei","url":"https://github.com/projectdiscovery/nuclei-templates/blob/main/http/cves/2026/CVE-2026-85097.yaml","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:42:43.628194Z","source_modified_at":null},{"source":"EPSS","url":"https://api.first.org/data/v1/epss?cve=CVE-2026-85097","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:42:43.628194Z","source_modified_at":"2026-10-23"}],"sources":["CVE List","Nuclei","EPSS"],"references":[{"source":"CVE List","url":"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/e993c929-f175-43a7-92e6-9d3b089b8dde?source=cve"},{"source":"CVE List","url":"https://bricksforge.io/version-changelog/"}],"locations":[],"motoko_assessment":{"status":"requires_architecture_review","automatic_remediation":false},"cve_state":"PUBLISHED","cvss_source":"CVE List","ssvc":{"exploitation":"none","automatable":"yes","technical_impact":"total","assessed_at":"2026-10-08T14:24:30.449178Z"},"exploits":[{"kind":"Scanner template","name":"Bricksforge WordPress Plugin <=3.1.8.9 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Upload","source":"Nuclei","url":"https://github.com/projectdiscovery/nuclei-templates/blob/main/http/cves/2026/CVE-2026-85097.yaml"}],"classification":{"method":"product-first software-layer rules","rules_version":"2.1","matched_on":null,"confidence":"unknown","reviewed":false},"change_timestamp":"2026-10-08T14:24:41.018Z","content_hash":"172e6f54aa05c7a78a87f3b2176719bfa3650556c7eac0c9264e7d7a89b77279"}}
