{"schema":"threatline.record/2","record":{"id":"CVE-2026-107937","aliases":[],"summary":"Apache CXF: The attachment header size and count limits can be bypassed, which allows denial of service through memory exhaustion.","details":"In Apache CXF, the parser for multipart/MTOM attachment part headers did not fully enforce the configured attachment-max-header-size (default 300 characters) and attachment-headers-max-count (default 500) limits. The size limit was applied only to each physical line, not to a header value built from continuation lines or to the combined values of a repeated header. The count limit was checked against the number of distinct header names, not the total number of header lines. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could send a multipart request with very large folded or repeated part headers. The server would then allocate memory without bound, causing a denial of service. \nUsers are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue.","categories":["Unclassified"],"product":"Apache CXF","vendor":"Apache Software Foundation","ecosystem":null,"affected_ranges":[{"source":"CVE List","source_url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-107937","source_modified_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","product":"Apache CXF","vendor":"Apache Software Foundation","versions":[{"status":"affected","version":"4.2.0","lessThan":"4.2.4","versionType":"semver"},{"status":"affected","version":"4.0.0","lessThan":"4.1.9","versionType":"semver"},{"status":"affected","version":"0","lessThan":"3.6.13","versionType":"semver"}],"defaultStatus":"unaffected"}],"fixed_versions":[{"source":"CVE List","source_url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-107937","source_modified_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","package":{"name":"Apache CXF","ecosystem":null},"version":"4.2.4","basis":"first unaffected version stated in the CVE record"},{"source":"CVE List","source_url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-107937","source_modified_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","package":{"name":"Apache CXF","ecosystem":null},"version":"4.1.9","basis":"first unaffected version stated in the CVE record"},{"source":"CVE List","source_url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-107937","source_modified_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","package":{"name":"Apache CXF","ecosystem":null},"version":"3.6.13","basis":"first unaffected version stated in the CVE record"}],"cvss":7.5,"severity":"High","kev":{"listed":false},"epss":{"probability":0.00555,"percentile":0.45576,"score_date":"2026-10-23"},"published_at":"2026-10-09T10:19:53.377Z","modified_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z","provenance":[{"source":"CVE List","url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-107937","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:48:36.087640Z","source_modified_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z"},{"source":"EPSS","url":"https://api.first.org/data/v1/epss?cve=CVE-2026-107937","fetched_at":"2026-10-23T18:42:43.628194Z","source_modified_at":"2026-10-23"}],"sources":["CVE List","EPSS"],"references":[{"source":"CVE List","url":"https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/x9twtpv3d04qj83t6w9xkh9y2q28zztj","tags":["vendor-advisory"]}],"locations":[],"motoko_assessment":{"status":"requires_architecture_review","automatic_remediation":false},"cve_state":"PUBLISHED","cvss_source":"CISA ADP","ssvc":{"exploitation":"none","automatable":"yes","technical_impact":"partial","assessed_at":"2026-10-15T17:45:18.146774Z"},"classification":{"method":"product-first software-layer rules","rules_version":"2.1","matched_on":null,"confidence":"unknown","reviewed":false},"change_timestamp":"2026-10-15T17:45:25.955Z","content_hash":"89b531f79af2c9cd4d29c45ba875511601a1237661d3b3328abae43682fa4972"}}
